During her undergraduate career, Shelby was involved with Delta Delta Delta Sorority, Hands and Feet, ACCESS Peer Mentors, and Phi Lambda Upsilon. Shelby was a recipient of the Organic Chemistry Award, Outstanding Second Year Chemist Award, and the Biochemistry Award. She was a Stephen D. Lee Scholar.
After graduating in May 2023, Shelby began the University of Tennessee Health Science Center's Accelerated 3-Year MD Program.
Shelby said of her time with SI, "Helping other students was my favorite thing about being an SI Leader! Seeing a student come into a session discouraged, and leaving with understanding and confidence in themselves was one of the most rewarding feelings!"
