As an undergraduate student, Alex was an officer for the Society of Women Engineers. She was a Stephen D. Lee Scholar- achieving a cumulative 4.0 grade point average during her college career. Alex was also a President's Scholar.
After graduating in May 2018, Alex began working on a PhD at Baylor College of Medicine studying pediatric leukemia.
Alex said of her time with SI, "Students telling me that I helped them do better in class and on exams was so rewarding. I also learned a lot that I actually used for my own classes too! Still do!"
